HTC must be pleased to hear the positive feedbacks now surrounding the recently launched HTC One smart phone after the unsuccessful HTC Thunderbolt release with owners complaining about poor battery life and performance as well as incompatible update cycle. Though it is not an official statement from HTC, an employee bravely acknowledged the Thunderbolt issue and apologized on the social news and entertainment web site "Reddit."

The HTC employee has the username "Erick_HTC" where some web sites identified him as Erick Nielsen. He released a statement apologizing for the poor performance of the Thunderbolt and how the smart phone affected HTC's image.

"Sorry to hear about the experience. Sorry about the Thunderbolt in general. It was a difficult project. I wish we didn't destroy your trust in us, but I understand why you do feel that way," Erick_HTC posted in response to a disappointed HTC customer.

For instance, HTC Thunderbolt users expressed their frustration over the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update performance that rolled out in February such as the lagging issue that made the smart phone almost ineffective. It appears that most Thunderbolt users would want to trade in the Ice Cream Sandwich features and return to a more established Android OS version.

The username "Erick_HTC" has been interacting as an HTC employee at Reddit for months where he answers the consumer inquiries, posts comments, shares web site links, reads the complaints, offers advice and even promotes the HTC products at the web site.

Erick Nielsen revealed he is thankful that HTC allows him to interact online. However, Erick stated that his posts should not be taken as an official word from the Taiwanese smart phone manufacturer since he is not a part of the HTC marketing or public relations team.
