The HTC One M9 Windows 10 edition is currently under construction and is likely to release later this year. In the previous, HTC One M8 Windows phone variant was released. And now, news about a successor model powered with Windows 10 has cropped up.

In Feb 9, the International Business Times had a published report on the rumours of Windows 10 version of HTC One M9. It stated that the flagship code-named as HTC HimaW would released in the U.S. The HTC One M8 Windows Phone edition was also exclusively available in the U.S.

According to WM Power User, the President of Global Sales and CFO for HTC, Chia-Lin Chang at a media event for the arrival of HTC One M9+ in India, expressed that the firm is working with Redmond based company to roll out a Windows 10 variant. It has been known that more details on the Windows 10 powered HTC One M9 will be revealed by the end of the second quarter or by the start of the third quarter of this year.

Last year, the Android based HTC One M8 was released in March 2014 and the Windows Phone 8.1 powered HTC One M8 was released in November last year. This year the Android version of the HTC One M9 was unveiled on March 1. As of now, there is no confirmation on when the HTC One M8 Windows 10 variant edition will be released.

The Windows 10 is still in its testing phase. The recently released Windows Technical Preview 2 for mobile is not the final edition and contains lots of bugs. Rumours have it that the Windows 10 release date is set for the second half of the year. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the official release date by the Redmond based company.

As far as specs of the HTC One M9 Windows 10 edition is concerned, it won’t be different from the Android version of the device. The only difference will be the operating system it features.
