Just like every year, the start of a new quarter means upcoming releases from the tech industry. As leaks about Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple iPhone 7 have started surfacing, the same goes for HTC's Hima or the One M9. According to reports, the upcoming device may feature a 5.5-inch screen including a 16 MP primary camera.

WCCFTech reported leaker "upleaks" providing more details about the specs of the HTC Hima. The upcoming flagship may soon be revealed around January. More importantly, the leak suggested that people may be in for some excellent features in the new HTC handset. Among these are the next generation Snapdragon 810 SoC, new Sense 7 plus 3GB RAM. The Chinese edition will feature a MediaTek SoC under the hood. The camera, however, remains debatable as some place it around 16 MP while others expect a 20.7 MP resolution from Sony. Samsung's Galaxy S6 and the Apple's iPhone 7 have also been reported to feature the new camera technology from Sony.

Techno Buffalo also noted that the new HTC One M9 or Hima will come in several colour variants: gold, gunmetal gold, silver and gray. As mentioned, the announcement may come around January, but the expected official commercial release is around March 2015.

Techno Buffalo countered that the specs are not as impressive as other reports claimed to be; at least for people who want a UHD display. Nonetheless, the site did say that HTC has also been working on a Prime variant. The device may feature a bigger screen plus better processor. The rumour mill also placed the release of the Prime variant possibly earlier than the Hima. There are also concerns about what will the device be called, but none has leaked so far.

As with other leaks, details should be taken with a grain of salt. HTC has not released any official details of its upcoming devices yet.
