HTC One M9 release date has not been officially disclosed by the Taiwanese smartphone and new rumours on an HTC One M9 variant has surfaced. HTC Hima Ace Plus is the codename of the HTC One M9 variant that is being referred to as HTC One M9 Max by the rumour mill. PhoneArena claims that it is the phablet version of the 2015 flagship HTC smartphone.

Citing a Portugal 4G News website, PhoneArena claims that HTC Hima Ace Plus will feature a 5.5-inch display screen supporting Quad HD resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. The device is rumoured to feature very thin bezels. It will be equipped with a fingerprint sensor that will function even when the display of the device is turned off. The upper and lower bezels of the device will house the stereo BoomSound speakers.

The HTC One M9 Max will be powered with a Snapdragon 810 chipset that will include an octa-core processor performing at 2.3 GHz that is accompanied by 3 GB of RAM. The handset is expected to arrive with native storage capacity of 32 GB. As of this writing, there is no information on whether the handset will feature any microSD slot. PhoneArena claims that since HTC included a microSD slot in the One M8 flagship of last year, there is a possibility that even the HTC One M9 Max will receive it.

The HTC Hima Ace Plus features a 20 MP shooter sitting on its rear side and the front side of the device features a 4 MP Ultrapixel camera. The handset will be running on the Lollipop OS but its exact version is not known. It will be overlaid with HTC Sense 7.0 UI. Lastly, the purported phablet will be packed with a massive battery of 3,000 mAh capacity.

The HTC One M9 is heavily rumoured to get unleashed during the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 expo period in March through an exclusive launch event. However, the HTC One M9 Max is not expected to get unveiled during this event. Rumours further indicate that the HTC Hima Ace Plus may not arrive until August or September this year. HTC has not confirmed anything on the HTC Hima Ace Plus handset.
