HTC has partnered with JB Hi-Fi for an exclusive deal to sell its new flagship device that will hit stores on November 20. The Desire Eye is already visible in JB's website where phones are usually sold unlocked and can work with any network.

Dubbed as "the ultimate imaging superphone", the new device was first revealed in New York at HTC's Double Exposure event last month. The Desire Eye is the company's play for the photographer.

The device is equipped with a much larger front camera which is unusual for a smartphone and is identical with the camera at the back, both of which have the same 13megapixel capacity with Dual Led Flash. Obviously, HTC is focusing on the photography features of the phone with its dedicated camera button plus HTC's Eye Experience which provides users new features like the "Selfie Effects", enhanced video calls with "Face Tracking" and the ability to shoot both pictures and video from both cameras simultaneously.

Besides the camera, the specs of the new device are the same with One M8, the company's high-end device. The Desire Eye has a 5.2-inch, 1920x1080p full HD screen and is powered by an impressive quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.3 GHz with 16GB storage, 2 GB of RAM and a microSD slot which can take cards up to 128GB in size. The device also boasts its Boomsound speakers which happen to be an HTC signature addition plus some HTC extras like Zoe for creative video editing, BlinkFeed for better social network notifications and the HTC Sense6.0, ITWire reports.

In addition, the Eye uses the Android KitKat 4.4.4 as its platform though no talks yet if it get the Lollipop upgrade. The smartphone is also IP57 and IPx7 rated, which means it is dustproof and is water resistant up to 1 metre deep for up to 30 minutes.

The HTC Desire Eye will sell at consumer electronics superstore JB for AU$799. Apparently, the coral red variant is the only colour that will be available in Australia.
