The users of the HTC One Mini 2 will reportedly not receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Apparently, an official tweet from HTC has given away this information.

Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For HTC One Mini 2

The tech giant has apparently said that the company will not send out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC One Mini 2 in response to a query from a user. It is worth reminding that, the One Mini 2 was released not too long ago in the same time-frame last year, notes Phone Arena. Therefore, HTC’s plan to not roll out the Lollipop update might be quite shocking to the device owners. The official tweet reads the following when asked about One Mini 2: “We determined that Lollipop on the One mini 2 will not provide an optimal experience; it isn't scheduled to receive the update.”

Meanwhile, the HTC One Mini 2, known as the compact version of the flagship HTC One M8, comes with a pocket friendly 4.5-inch Super LCD 2 display and 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the handset is powered a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and backed by a modest 1 GB of RAM configuration.

Also it is worth noting that, HTC's Mo Versi had reportedly tweeted in March stating that only the Google Play edition of the 2013 flagship HTC One M7 will be receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. In hindsight, HTC apparently promised to roll out Android updates to the One M7 for a total of two years from the launch. However, that time period has now expired and hence there will be no Android 5.1 Lollipop update for HTC One M7. But then, as a silver lining, Versi tweeted later saying HTC might reconsider this decision.

On the other hand, in the summer 2011, the tech giant reportedly said that it will not update the HTC Desire to Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, because of the lack of storage space on the device. But later, HTC apparently reverted the decision and eventually rolled out the Gingerbread update to the delighted HTC Desire users across the globe. Therefore, Phone Arena says, with decisions having reverted quite often, there’s a good chance that the company might change the plan once again and send out the Lollipop update. In any case, readers may have to wait a week or so to get the official confirmation.

Here is the tweet confirming the non-availability of Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC One Mini 2:

Update: A new report says HTC One Mini will also not be receiving the Lollipop update like the Mini 2.
