The HTC 10 that was launched earlier this month is receiving rave reviews from the critics. One of its major rivals is the LG G5 that features a unique modular design and marvelous specs. Here is a comparison between the two devices on the basis of their specification, features, release date and price

Design and Display

The HTC One M10 sports a full metal unibody design that features a curved glass panel on its front side. Its dimensions are 145.9 x 71.9 x 9 mm and its weight is 161 grams.

The smartphone comes in multiple colours such as gray, gold, silver and red. It is equipped with a 5.2-inch Super LCD 5 technology screen that offers Quad HD resolution.

One of the unique features of LG G5 is that comes with a modular design. It allows users to easily swap different accessories like 360-degree camera, digital to audio convertor, VR headset, and more.

As far as its chassis is concerned, it features a full metallic body. It is available in colours like silver, titan, gold and pink. It measures 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7 mm and weighs 159 grams. It is packed with a 5.3-inch IPS LCD screen that supports Quad HD resolution.

Chipset, RAM and Storage

The HTC One M10 and LG G5 are powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. The LG G5 comes in a single storage option of 32 GB whereas the HTC 10 is available in 32 GB and 64 GB options. Both the smartphones carry support for microSD card.

Camera and Software

The HTC One M10’s 12 MP rear camera supports dual-LED flash and laser autofocus. On its front, there is a 5 MP selfie snapper. Both the cameras support Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The LG G5 has a dual-camera setup that includes a 16 MP and an 8 MP camera. It is enabled with features like OIS, laser autofocus and single LED flash. The selfie camera of LG G5 is 8 MP.

Both the smartphones come preloaded with Android Marshmallow OS. The Android OS on HTC 10 and LG G5 phones are modified with Sense 8 UI and Optimus UX 5.0 UI, respectively.

Other Features and Battery

HTC 10 comes with frontal speakers, a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint scanner. The LG G5 is also equipped with USB Type-C port and a fingerprint reader. It also features USB OTG. The HTC One M10 is packed with a 3000 mAh non-removable battery whereas the LG G5 has a 2800 mAh removable battery.

Price and Release Date

The HTC 10 and LG G5 are both slated to be available for purchase from May 3 in Australia. The HTC 10 is priced at $1,099 whereas the LG G5 carries a price tag of $1,080.
