Requirements:

1. The device must have root access.

2. Battery level must be at least 80 per cent to avoid any power interruption.

3. Inside the recovery mode, create a Nandroid backup for your ROM (Backup and Restore > Backup).

4. Select "wipe data/factory reset" to wipe all data on your device.

5. After that, select "install zip from sd card > choose zip from sd card" and choose the Android 4.2.2 custom ROM you have copied earlier. Do the thing with Google Apps package.

6. Once the installation is complete, "go back" and select "reboot system now". Be patient and let the device reboot for about 5 minutes.
