Effective managers know that making the workplace as suitable to employees as possible will lead to higher productivity and stronger relationships. Many successful businesses regularly make the needed changes to encourage workers to stay happy and give their best in any project.

1. Give workers leeway

Always leave room for creativity and provide options to employees when setting tasks. Workers will work better if they know that they have more choices to experiment with. They can apply their knowledge and personal touch, ultimately garnering better results. Although professionalism is highly encouraged, trust your workers and inspire them to reach objectives in the best way they know how. The traditional approach is not the only means of achieving company goals.

2. Evaluate their level of happiness

Regularly conduct reviews and evaluations to determine how satisfied workers are in their environment. Allow them to give suggestions and always have a counselor or mentor ready to communicate just in case they come across challenges and issues in the workplace.

3. Make physical changes in the office

Adjusting the office scene and adding a few elements that will equate to fun will encourage creativity and boost productivity. Some workplaces install a pool table, a dartboard and other minor add-ons that will encourage communication. Also make sure that their basic physical needs are met so that they stay comfortable while doing tasks. Studies showed that the right office temperature equated to higher productivity among workers.

4. Celebrate special occasions

Upon reaching sales targets and other monthly objectives, pop a bottle of champagne to show workers how much you appreciate their efforts. Celebrate each one's birthday by preparing a cake and singing a song to the celebrant together. These practices will only take a few minutes but will make everyone happier in the office.

5. Move on

Educate employees to be resilient and forgiving in the workplace. There will be times of conflict among colleagues but it is more important that everyone knows how to properly forgive, forget and move on with the real goals of the business. Effective bosses regularly post weekly or monthly mottos to inspire everyone and strengthen employee relationships.
