How I Met Your Mother Season 9, Episode 3 ("Last Time in New York") continues the long farewell chapter of the hit CBS sitcom. Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) reveals something shocking to Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), as Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel) continues his journey to Farhampton.

Spoiler Alert: This review recaps the highlights of How I Met Your Mother Season 9, Episode 3, "Last Time in New York." Spoilers abound for those who haven't seen the latest HIMYM episode.

Here are some of the things viewers learned from HIMYM 09X03:

1. Robin (Cobie Smulders) is wrong in believing that only Ted gets her when she gives her I need you now, drop everything code.

2. Barney has changed so much since giving Ted Mosby his "how to live" rules in the HIMYM pilot episode. This legendary groom to be is making sure he will keep his wife happy until old age.

3. Lily (Alyson Hannigan) tells Ted to say goodbye to what's bad in New York - not to the things that he absolutely loves about the city. Stella gets another mention in How I Met Your Mother Season 9. Will viewers see her (Sarah Chalke) and Ted again?

4. Ted realises he's been avoiding having talks with Barney because of his lingering feelings for Robin. Now viewers remember Barney's line that says, "Robin is marrying me, not you." Perhaps there is a lot more to that, but Barney is revealing something else for now. (Jump to No. 5)

5. Barney tells Ted he saw how things transpired between Ted and Robin by the carousel at the Central Park - where they held hands. Same place where Robin tells Ted he's the one who's always there for her. And the rain must be a sign from the universe that the wedding shouldn't happen. More on that later.

Also on How I Met Your Mother Season 9, Episode 3: Sherri Shepherd as Daphne continues to keep Marshall and Marvin company. Wayne Brady stays on, too, for more of Stinson fun flavour in the show. HIMYM fans Ted is not going to have his "Last Time in New York" anytime soon.

So far so good for HIMYM's farewell season. The showrunners are expected to be in their A game throughout the year. No more space fillers. More important -- and hopefully -- more about the mother in next episodes.
