How I Met Your Mother Season 8 ended Monday night on CBS with a big reveal - the actress playing the titular mother is actress Cristin Milioti. The showrunners are quite pleased with the important casting, while fans aired some mixed reactions.

On TVFanatic.com, readers were surveyed about Cristin Milioti aka "the girl with the yellow umbrella." The survey question reads, "How do you feel about the How I Met Your Mother reveal?" Forty-five per cent of the poll takers ticked "Perfect!" Sixteen per cent chose "Disappointing." The rest (38.5%) pointed to wait-and-see, or "Waiting to reserve judgment." Six hundred and fifty responses have been counted, so far.

"Cristin Milioti is, against all odds, exactly what we were looking for. She made us laugh on "30 Rock," she made us swoon in [the Broadway play] "Once," and her ukulele skills are no joke," reads a statement from How I Met Your Mother co-creator Carter Bays.

"We're thrilled to welcome her to the How I Met Your Mother family, and look forward to getting to know her - and the character she plays - much better in the coming final season," the statement adds, hinting more exposure for Milioti on HIMYM Season 9.

TheHollywoodGossip.com asked How I Met Your Mother viewers: "Were you happy with the major reveal?" Out of 991 responses, 64.6% said "Yes, so well done!" The rest (35.4%) said "No, what a letdown!"

"I saw this young woman (Cristin Milioti) in Once, on Broadway. She was amazing!" HIMYM viewer Maggie Brady said on Facebook.

On How I Met Your Mother's Google+ Community Page, Chen Dasa wrote, "A little disappointed about the mother... I imagined prettier (sic)." Several others echoed the same sentiment. However, a lot of HIMYM fans are delighted over the choice.
