'How to Get Away with Murder' Season 2 spoilers: Eve-Wes-Annalise backstory, forensic investigation on Sinclair's death and new characters

There will be new storylines, shocking twists, new characters and more backstories in “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2 when ABC’s legal drama series returns with the second-half episodes in February 2016. “How to Get Away with Murder” (HTGAWM) series creator and Executive Producer Peter Nowalk teases on the storylines involving the Annalise-Wes relationship, the aftermath of the shooting incident at the Hapstall mansion and Asher Millstone’s (Matt McGorry) flashforward scene.

The HTGAWM characters involved in the crimes at the Hapstall mansion are going to face more problems because the authorities will now enter the picture. In a TVLine spoiler report, Nowalk teased that things will get uglier in “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2 as the forensic experts conduct an investigation on the death of A.D.A. Emily Sinclair (Sarah Burns).

“There will be forensic experts all up in there. Sinclair was an ADA, so she’s a high-profile victim,” Nowalk shared.

Nowalk further revealed what he learned from talking to real law-enforcement people and said that forensic science is really very much up to interpretation. Nowalk teased that as a defense attorney, Annalise knows that creating a mess at the crime scene is the best strategy.

However, the second-half episodes of “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2 will conclude if Annalise’s plan of tossing Sinclair’s dead body off the Hapstall mansion balcony and getting shot to pin Sinclair’s murder on Catherine Hapstall (Amy Okuda) will work or not. TVLine’s spoiler report further teased that the viewers are going to meet three recurring guest stars.

“How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2 is looking for three actors who could portray the super rich couple George and Beverly Mahoney and their son, Charles. It is speculated that the Mahoney family could continue to make a recurring appearance in “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 3 as Annalise’s new clients.

Meanwhile, Nowalk told TVGuide that Wes Gibbins’ (Alfred Enoch) past with Annalise and Eve Rothlow (Famke Janssen) will be explored in the remaining six episodes of “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2. He further added that Wes has a lot of questions about his connection to Annalise but the rules have changed.

“I don't think she's gonna be able to deal with him in the same way anymore or wants to,” Nowalk told TVGuide.

As for Asher Millstone’s flashforward scene at the police station, Nowalk confirmed that the HTGAWM fans will understand if he is really confessing or it is a part of the plan when the TV series returns from its winter hiatus.

“How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2 is scheduled to return with episode 10 on Thursday night, Feb. 11, at 10/9c on ABC.
