'How to Get Away with Murder' Season 2 spoilers: Episode 9 to reveal details on the Hapstall case, Catherine-Philip connection and Annalise's shooter [WATCH]

The burning question on the identity of Annalise Keating’s shooter will finally be answered in the winter finale episode of “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2. The synopsis and promo video of “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2, episode 9 titled “What Did We Do?” tease on what started the disastrous events that happened at the Hapstall mansion involving Annalise’s employees, students and clients Caleb (Kendrick Sampson) and Catherine Hapstall (Amy Okuda).

The synopsis of “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2, episode 9 on TVGuide reveal that A.D.A. Emily Sinclair (Sarah Burns) will get a big break in the Hapstall murder case. However, Sinclair’s new opportunity and actions will lead to her death and the shooting of Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) at the Hapstall mansion.

The HTGAWM fans will also find out who shot Annalise and why in the second season’s winter finale episode. Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch) brought a gun to the Hapstall mansion and handed it over to Bonnie Winterbottom (Liza Weil), Annalise’s associate attorney, in the previous episode titled “Hi, I’m Philip.”

Bonnie could be the HTGAWM character that shot Annalise because Bonnie wants to get back at Annalise for divulging her childhood past and secret to her new boyfriend and Keating Five member, Asher Millstone (Matt McGorry). Meanwhile, another HTGAWM character suspected of shooting Annalise is Catherine Hapstall (Amy Okuda).

Series creator Peter Nowalk shared in an interview with People that Catherine Hapstall looks very guilty at the moment because of her revealed connection with Philip (Jefferson White) in the previous episode. “What that means for their relationship and that they've met before, it leaves a lot to the imagination for the next episode,” Nowalk teased.

Aside from the story twist on the Catherine-Philip relationship, Nowalk further assured the HTGAWM fans that a lot will go down in the winter finale episode that leads to the gasp-worthy moments at the Hapstall mansion. “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2, episode 9 titled “What Did We Do?” will air on Thursday night, Nov. 19, at 10/9c on ABC.
