“House of Cards” has been renewed for a fifth season on Netflix. There are rumors that Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) may be eyeing on the presidency itself. The actress also asked to be paid the same as her co-star Kevin Spacey.

Netflix announced the renewal of “House of Cards” for Season 5 ahead of its March 4 season four premiere. However, creator and showrunner Beau Willimon will no longer be part of the new season, writes E! News.

Season 4 with Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) going head-to-head against Will Conway (Joel Kinnaman) in the presidential elections, and wife Claire running as his vice-president. There are lingering issues that remained such as whether Tom Hammerschmidt (Boris McGiver) will eventually unveil all the facts about the Underwoods and how Claire’s new romance with Yates (Paul Sparks) will turn out.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that although Frank may have approved of his wife and Yate’s unlikely relationship, he will most likely find a way to eliminate the latter, especially if he poses potential problems for the couple. Leanne Harvey (Neve Campbell) and Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) may be romantically involved in Season 5, with Harvey owning the relationship. There are also speculations that the two may abandon the Underwoods and work together to find their own places of power.

There is also the possibility of Claire getting rid of Frank to take her place as president. If she fails, Frank is expected to eliminate her and keep the White House to himself.

In other “House of Cards” news, Harpers Bazaar reveals that Robin Wright had to fight to have equal pay as Kevin Space in “House of Cards.” She reportedly warned the studio bosses that she will go public if they still pay her less than her co-star.

The studio heads eventually agreed to her request. The actress said that it was the “perfect paradigm,” since there are very few TV shows or movies where the patriarch and matriarch are equal. In “House of Cards,” her character was equal to Kevin Spacey’s, and was even more popular for some time. She shared that she decided to capitalize on that fact and asked for equal pay.

“House of Cards” Season 5 will launch later in 2016.
