"House of Cards" is the most streamed Netflix show in Virginia, United States. Meanwhile, "Orange is the New Black" was touted as the most watched original series.

A study by the High Speed Internet, a website that allows viewers to compare internet service providers, revealed that Virginians were keen to watch what went on in the American capital in the Kevin Spacey-led political thriller. The company considered the top 75 television shows on Netflix, cross-referenced them with data gathered from Google Trends and listed the most streamed shows.

The company also published a map detailing the most popular Netflix shows in each state. "We wondered if the data on streaming content by state in 2016 might tell a compelling story about how Netflix favourites reflect regional differences," the company said on its blog.

ABC’s political thriller "Scandal" was the favourite among viewers in the South and Midwest USA. The Pacific Coast found their liking for comedies like "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and "Portlandia." "American Horror Story" and "iZombie" were most watched in West Virginia and Wyoming. Meanwhile, Netflix original "Stranger Things" was loved by viewers in Idaho. "Orange is the New Black" was touted as the favourite show across Alaska, Arizona, Michigan, Nebraska, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

The release date for season 5 of "House of Cards" has not been released yet. Nevertheless, the newest season of the critically acclaimed show will reportedly feature some new faces. According to Den of Geek, Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott will be gracing the new season but nothing more has been made official concerning their roles.

While nothing has been said about the storyline for season 5, Michael Kelly, who plays Doug Stamper, dropped a teaser – hinting that a character will be dying. "You lose characters that you love. We almost lost Frank, and I always have faith in the writers that no matter what road we go down, we're going to come back to what the show is," he said.
