"Home and Away" recap

Last week, John prepared a surprise welcome lunch for Marilyn and Leah and Zac came over to help. When Leah asked how they are doing, John admitted that they’re still in the readjustment period. He said they’d be having a bit of a problem picking up where they left off. Marilyn went over to Irene for a visit. Irene insisted that they go out for a walk. What Marilyn didn’t know was Irene’s leading her back to John’s house for the surprise lunch. Apart from Leah and Zac, Roo was there as well. Marilyn was touched with the effort, but she looked pensive when John said it’s good to have her back.

During lunch, Marilyn shared stories about her European adventure to the guests. However, the lovely lunch got awkward when Marilyn sprung a surprise to John. She revealed that she put themselves back to the fostering program. John was clearly taken aback and wondered why she didn’t discuss it with him first. The other guests, sensing an argument coming up, excused themselves and headed out. Once alone, Marilyn apologised to John, saying that she thought it was what John wanted. He said he did, but that was before she ran away. Later, John explained where he was coming from: he tried to be a good foster parent to Skye but it was a monumental disaster. Marilyn was determined to change his mind, saying that he shouldn’t stop fostering because of a bad experience. However, John said he doesn’t see himself taking in more kids.

At home, Irene took out a box full of baby stuff and tearfully reminisced about her son. Meanwhile, Hunter was struggling as he did his community service as punishment. He found it difficult to deal with a strict supervisor breathing down his neck.

Josh was seen thinking over about things when Evie walked in. Josh apologised for treating her badly and Evie agreed with him that everything has changed between them. “Everything we were, it’s gone now and it’s never going to get back,” she said. Josh then wondered, “Where do we go to from here?” Later, Evie also said sorry to Josh for making him do what he didn’t want to do – let his brother take the fall. They professed their love for each other before sharing a hug. The two looked like they were saying goodbye to each other. Later, Evie cried to Leah’s arms.

Prior to that, Evie and Mason had a moment as she opened up to him about Josh. However, Evie caught herself and stopped sharing. Later, Matt teased Mason when he said he’s thinking about someone special. However, Mason didn’t reveal who she’s pining for.

Elsewhere, Josh paid Andy a visit in prison. Josh still could not believe his brother’s willing to languish in jail when he’s the one who murdered Charlotte. Andy told him that there’s one thing Josh could do to make it right: stop making stupid decisions. The brothers hugged and Josh left. Later, Josh went to the police and surrendered a recording of his conversation with Andy. It contained Josh’s confession about killing Charlotte.
