On Monday, John Palmer (Shane Withington) and Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons) are rocked to their core as they learn about the firestorm controversy. The couple is already at wit’s end – fans would remember that John’s health has worsened in the previous episode.

Spoilers suggest that he is rushed to the hospital, where Nate Cooper (Kyle Pryor) informs him that he has a brain tumour. In light of John’s health crisis, Katarina Chapman (Pia Miller) struggles to pin him down for being the Summer Bay serial arson. Back to the Bay reports that Monday’s episode also centres on an emotional send-off for Billie (Tessa de Josselin), arranged by her loved ones. Seven Network posted a sneak peek of the Feb. 27 episode on its official website. In the trailer, Ash and VJ have another row as they debate about Billie’s remains. VJ wants her to be cremated as she wished but Ash wants to bury Billie’s body next to their brother.

The sneak peek also shows Justin, who finally gets a chance to talk to Nina (Zoe Naylor) about their daughter. Nina wants Justin to give a guarantee that Eva would be safe once she allows him to see their daughter. Justin, however, is unsure that his family’s nightmare with the mob is really over.

“Home and Away” recap

In the previous episode, Justin approached Kat and she asked if she knew any family lawyer that could help him. He told Kat about Nina’s resistance for him to see his child. Kat said she knows some lawyers but discouraged him to pursue the legal measure since it’s too big of a risk. Meanwhile, Phoebe sent a Facebook message to Nina, hoping to change the latter’s mind. However, when Justin arrived and shared what Kat told him, Phoebe started regretting what she did.

The next day, Phoebe admitted her blunder to Kat, who reprimanded her friend for making the situation worse. Justin walked in and Phoebe had no choice but to come clean about what she did. Justin wasn’t too happy as expected that Phoebe overstepped the mark, but he said to leave it first and see how Nina reacts. Phoebe and Justin decided to consult with a lawyer about the case and he realised that taking the case to court would not be the best recourse. He was ready to throw in the towel when Nina replied to Phoebe’s message, asking Justin to meet him that afternoon.

John started pouring gas at the bait shop, preparing to set it on fire. As he tried to start the fire, Alf happened to walk by and called him out. However, Alf wasn’t able to recognise John, who was wearing a black hoodie. Hearing Alf, John ran away and left behind his lighter. Later that night, Kat and other cops arrived to investigate the scene. The next day, John was testy and snapped at Marilyn, Kat and even Raffy. After berating Raffy for accidentally leaving behind her water bottle at the beach, John experienced a blinding headache. He stormed home and ranted to Marilyn about Raffy. Marilyn offered him some advice but he snapped at her again.

John decided to take a nap but when he woke up, his symptoms seemed to get even worse. It wasn’t long before he collapsed and had a seizure. Meanwhile, Kat learned that the fingerprints on the lighter matched John’s and he became the only suspect for arson.
