After a two-week hiatus, “Home and Away” is back with an explosive episode that will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. On Monday, Tori Morgan’s (Penny McNamee) dreamy birthday trip turns into a nightmare after the plane carrying her and other Summer Bay residents takes a perilous plunge. While everyone seems to be safe, Brody Morgan (Jackson Heywood) may not be as lucky.

The plane crash rocks the world of those who didn’t go to the trip, especially Justin Morgan (James Stewart). Knowing that the mob deliberately brought down the plane, he pulls out all the stops to find the victims, hoping for the best that they are all alive. Other “Home and Away” cast members who will also appear on the upcoming installment include Leah Patterson-Baker (Ada Nicodemou), Mason Morgan (Orpheus Pledger), Evelyn “Evie” MacGuire’s (Philippa Northeast), Nate Cooper (Kyle Pryor), Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger), Billie Ashford (Tessa De Josselin), Duncan Stewart (Benedict Wall), Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher), Roo Stewart (Georgie Parker), Martin “Ash” Ashford (George Mason) and Phoebe Nicholson (Isabella Giovinazzo).

Back to the Bay reports that the plane boarding Tori, Duncan and other Summer Bay favourites is filled with carbon dioxide. The passengers all pass out and the plane crashes down. Upon learning about the tragic accident, their loved ones are wrought with worry.

Seven Network posted a sneak peek of the Aug.22 episode. In the trailer, the plane crashes in a secluded location. Everyone seems to be safe, but Brody is separated from the group. Billie feels something’s wrong with the baby. Meanwhile, Justin and Ash try to track down the plane. They seem to find everyone but Brody looks to be in great danger as Tori screams his name. In another preview video posted by “Home and Away” on its official Facebook page, Justin manages to contact Duncan through the radio, but the latter passes out along with his passengers.

“Home and Away” recap

Before it took a brief break, “Home and Away” featured an episode that showed Olivia, Hunter and VJ gearing up to take their make-or-break exams. After the exams, Olivia was worried that she flunked the test. Tabitha overheard her ranting to VJ and decided to do something about it. After cracking Zac’s code, Tabitha hacked into the system to change Olivia’s scores.

Justin met Spike to give him the elusive book, but a few seconds later, the police arrived. Spike tried to run, but the cops managed to catch him. Spike warned Justin that things are about to get worse. “Say goodbye to your sister for me,” Spike said, which sent Justin to a panic. While the police assigned to protect his family assured him that nothing would go wrong, Justin worried about Tori and his brothers.

Justin desperately tried to contact Tori to warn her, but she ignored his call. She was mad at him for being rude earlier when they bumped into each other. She didn’t know that Justin was actually doing something to finally free their family from the mob. Mason reckoned there’s something off – there must be a reason for Justin’s attitude. He wanted to call back Justin to make sure nothing’s wrong, but he was outnumbered by Tori and Brody. Justin looked for his sister and brothers everywhere but he was too late. They all boarded the plane heading towards Tori’s birthday weekend with Nate, Evie, Mason, Leah, Billie and Irene. Duncan piloted the plane.

As the plane took off, a pipe started emitting thin smoke inside the cabin. Justin arrived at the tarmac but it was too late – the plane took off before he could warn them. Everyone in the plane was in good spirits as they sang “Happy Birthday” to Tori, unaware of the imminent danger.
