Holly Holm had just won the UFC women’s bantamweight title at UFC 193 in Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium, but the new undisputed champion is already thinking of a rematch with Ronda Rousey. She said she would give the fight to “Rowdy” whenever the challenger wants it.

“Rematch makes sense for sure,” Holm said, reports Fox Sports. “A rematch is kind of an unspoken common sense to me.”

Holm shocked the MMA world after knocking out Rousey cold 59 seconds into the second round of their championship bout in a sold-out Etihad Stadium. Holm’s moves were calculated as she danced around Rousey and landed precisely timed punches on the former champion. The fighter from New Mexico was the first to deal Rousey her first loss and was the first to last the judo Olympic medalist for more than one round.

Holm’s stunning victory sets up a massive rematch potentially at UFC 200 in July next year, which was hinted by UFC president Dana White, according LA Times’ Lance Pugmire. Jason Gay of the Wall Street Journal also believes the next step for Rousey is a rematch, considering how the UFC has steered its fighters into crowd-pleasing matches.

“The obvious commercial answer is a rematch,” Gay wrote. “The UFC made its reputation by steering its fighters into crowd-pleasing matches, so there will be a lot of institutional energy dedicated to making Holm-Rousey II happen.”

However, there is also a possibility of Rousey retiring from the sport, reports Hollywood Life. According to the report, an insider in Rousey’s camp claims that the fighter has told people she “might retire” from MMA because of the shattering defeat from Holm.

Rousey previoulsy revealed that she wants to walk away from fighting after her match against Holm to focus on other things like filming her upcoming movies. However, it would be hard to imagine Rousey completely walking away from the stardom that UFC offers, especially now that she has something to prove.
