"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" reportedly opened to $ 10 million at the box office in Australia. The movie has been already released in some of the other international markets and has been topping the charts. The producers continue to promote the movie on social media.

According to a report by Variety "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" has already crossed the $ 400 million mark at the international box office. Apart from Australia, the other countries where the movie opened during Christmas were Poland, Iceland and Bangladesh.

The two previous movies from the "Hobbit" trilogy reportedly earned around $ 2 billion for Warner Bros. The final movie from the trilogy is expected to add another billion for the producers. The movie is yet to be released in China.

The producers continue to share images from the movie on its official Facebook page. The latest entry talks about "Hobbit 3" being "the #1 movie in the world" at the box office for two weeks in a row. This may be the last movie by director Peter Jackson to focus on stories from the fantasy world of Middle earth.

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" takes viewers to the foothills of the Lonely Mountain, where the battle for the future of Middle Earth is waged. The armies of orcs, elves, men, eagles and dwarves will engage in battle to control the territory and the vast treasure of the Lonely Mountain.

The producers have been asking the fans to join them at the movies with the hashtag #OneLastTime. This is also a dialogue from a scene in the the movie where the character Thorin, played by Richard Armitage, asks the people in his company to join him in battle.

The cast members of the movie include Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Dean O'Gorman, Aidan Turner, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Hugo Weaving, Christopher Lee and Cate Blanchett. The actor Ian Holm also stars in the movie reprising his role as the old Bilbo Baggins.

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" had to beat "Exodus: Gods and Kings" at the foreign box office to claim the first position. The movie will have to compete with the movies "The Gambler" and "The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death" that are releasing this week.
