Elizabeth Lauten's criticism of Malia and Sasha Obama and her resignation over the brouhaha caused by her Facebook post as well as stories that the critic was a shoplifter during her teens is old news. The latest headline designed to further damage the Obama image is speculations that 16-year-old Malia is allegedly pregnant.

The hoax news is traced to news satire Web site Empire News which came out with a satire article written by Angela Baker that the president's eldest daughter is with a child. However, Waffles at Noon, another news portal that brings out to the public's attention what is fake and real news, immediately pointed that the Empire article on Malia is a satire.

"Internet readers are often unaware of the fictional nature of Empire News, and often share the false stories with the assumption that they are real," Waffles at Noon wrote. It pointed the proliferation of satire news sites such as Empire is because fake news pretending to be satire is big business by relying "on the shock value and knew-jerk sharing to achieve viral status for many of these types of posts."

Actually, a Chicago theater featured in April a live show titled BARACK ALL NIGHT that satirised Malia already having a boyfriend.

The Empire article cited sources as saying that Malia is allegedly on her second trimester. It also attributed a quote to First Lady Michelle Obama that teen pregnancy runs in the Obama clan. The quote reads: "On her father's side of course. My mother-in-law had Barack when she was 18, so I see where Malia gets it from. I'm just so excited to decorate the nursery. The White House hasn't seen a baby since oh, 1884 or so."

The satire news said Malia is quiet about the identity or race of the baby's father, but she was vocal about going to college after giving birth. Malia was quoted as saying, "It's not like Stanford or Berkeley are going to, like, turn me down for being a teen mother. Hello, I'm the president's daughter."

Actually, Obama is a typical American dad who also fears Malia and Sasha one day starting to go out on dates.

And true enough as Waffles at Noon stated, the hoax news became viral as a lot of Twitter members retweeted the Empire News story.

However, some netizens are wise enough and pointed out that the story is fake.

RIP papa underscored that "whoever belies that malia obama pregnant dumb asf 100 that girl got security wit her everywhere."

Ann C Kennedy commented, "Lmao you're an idiot if you think Malia Obama is pregnant. Let alone gave that horribly written statement."

SUCCE$ Clothing Co summed it up in her tweet: "Y'all dumb if y'all think Malia Obama is pregnant. Did y'all actually read that article? It doesn't sound like her at all. A fool made it."

The Obama daughters certainly made headlines this week, making Lauten's misadventures as a teenager pale in comparison had the hoax stories been true.
