Star Wars actor Hayden Christensen stepped out for a relaxing massage in a casual hoodie and pants and what should have been a 5 o'clock shadow that's way overdue.

While this may seem like yet another case of Hollywood bearded gents gone wrong, The Daily Mail reports that the actor's facial mane is for an upcoming role as a crusader alongside Nicolas Cage.

Hopefully this is the case, as Christensen has always been famous for the brooding yet clean cut look that brought him to stardom as the young Darth Vader, pre-Dark Side. Let's hope he doesn't join the ranks of other celebrities who have sported unruly, scruffy, and just plain obnoxious beards in the past.

Shia LaBeouf

Growing up doesn't have to mean looking like a grizzly, but it seems like this is exactly what Shia LaBeouf's idea of being a man is.

Most fans didn't recognize the Transformers star when he sported the mane and tail. After being recognized as one of the sexiest men alive, he was spotted early last year sport a hobo-slash-hipster look and a head full of hair (literally), according to Mirror.

Joaquin Phoenix

Who could forget the time when everyone suspected that Joaquin Phoenix was starting to lose it? Aside from his madman appearance thanks to the unruly facial hair that covered almost 70% of his face, Screen Junkies reported that this was coupled with weird behavior and the out-of-the-blue announcement that the Grammy awarded actor was quitting Hollywood for a music career.

Of course, all of this boiled down to a faux documentary directed by Casey Affleck entitled I'm Still Here-another idea that was not-well-received by everyone else.

It's a good thing that Phoenix has bounced back from the very odd phase in his life and went on to star in The Master, where he received numerous awards.

David Beckham

Soccer superstar David Beckham may have all in the looks and family department-his son Brooklyn just tried out for London club Chelsea Youth Academy, reports CBC Sports-but things weren't always as clean-cut and grand as they were.

In 2009, England's 3-0 win against Belarus was partly overshadowed by Beckham's thick chin-hair-most of which had strayed down to his neck. Telegraph even compared him to Old Father Time. Or maybe the star player gave it his all during practice time, and forgot everything else? Whatever the case may be, fans are loving the fact that this blunder hasn't occurred again-and hopefully, it never will.

Brad Pitt

Almost anything that Brad Pitt does can be forgiven by his many fan girls, fan women, and even fellow men. The actor who took Hollywood by storm in Interview with the Vampire and has become the fantasy of females in the last two generations had sported several beards within his career-because the scruff does look good on him-but there are moments when enough is enough.

E! Online traces his beard's evolution from his clean-cut days to the nightmare tangles growing out of Brad's chin. But as of late, his clean-shaven look has been making waves.

And even though the beard is back for his newest movie, World War Z, this time, it's a scruff that might see a third generation of female following for Brad.
