“Reservoir Dogs” actors Tim Roth and Michael Madsen reunited in “The Hateful Eight.” The former recently described how it was working with Quentin Tarantino, who wrote and directed both “Reservoir Dogs” and “The Hateful Eight.”

In an interview with Scotsman, Roth said Tarantino writes beautifully for his actors. He added that the director had written “The Hateful Eight” character Oswaldo Mobray, an upper crust Brit, with him in mind.

According to Roth, Tarantino is aware that he has a kind of a “healthy loathing” against the upper classes. This is why the director wrote “that kind of noise” for him in “The Hateful Eight,” the actor said.

Tarantino sent out the first draft of “The Hateful Eight” to Roth, Madsen and Bruce Dern in early 2014, but the script ended up in the hands of someone’s agent and was eventually leaked online. Tarantino was infuriated at the time and announced he was shelving the film.

Roth made it clear that he had nothing to do with the leak. He then encouraged Tarantino to change his mind and the director eventually re-wrote the script of “The Hateful Eight.”

With the new script, Tarantino had live script reading in Los Angeles with the cast of “The Hateful Eight” including Madsen, Dern, Samuel L Jackson, Kurt Russell and Walton Goggins. Roth said the director was crying with laughter when he saw him do his character.

Both Roth and Madsen’s characters in “The Hateful Eight” are lodgers featured in “Chapter Three: Minnie's Haberdashery.” In Tarantino’s 1992 crime thriller film “Reservoir Dogs,” Roth played Freddy Newandyke/Mr. Orange while Madsen played Vic Vega/Mr. Blonde.

In an interview with Independents, Madsen revealed that he originally auditioned for Mr. Pink because the character has more scenes with Larry Dimmick/Mr. White, which was played by Harvey Keitel. However, Tarantino said he should play Mr. Blonde or he should not be part of “Reservoir Dogs” at all and gave the role of Mr. Pink to Steve Buscemi.

“The Hateful Eight” is set to hit theatres in Australia on Jan. 14. The film also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Demian Bichir, Craig Stark, Keith Jefferson, Gene Jones, Zoe Bell, James Parks and Lee Horsley, among others.
