The second part of Harry Potter latest series, the “Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows” has reached a billion-dollar milestone after seventeen (17) days.

In Australia alone, the second of the last Potter series has collected more than $38 million when it was released in theaters.
Released in theaters on July 15, 2011, the Deathly Hallows 2 according to The Herald Sun is the only Potter film to have broken the $1billion- mark.

The only Harry Potter film that nearly reached $1 billion is the “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” which raked in recorded income of US$975 million.

Deathly Hallows 2 now joins eight other films which had reached billion dollar mark. Check out the top grossing film of all time worldwide, according to the Herald Sun are the following:

  • “Avatar” - US$2.8 billion
  • “Titanic” - US$1.8 billion
  • “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” - US$1.11 billion
  • “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest” - US$1.07 billion
  • “Toy Story 3” - US$1.06 billion
  • “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” - US$1.03 billion
  • “Alice in Wonderland” - US$1.02 billion
  • “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 “ - US$1.01 billion
  • “The Dark Knight” - US$1 billion
