Zach Galifianakis has admitted that he and other casts of Hangover didn’t expect that the film would “strike a chord” in millions of fans around the world, underscoring that he has been surprised to how people react to him after finding fame in his role as oddball, Allan Garner.

Fans love his unassuming, uncanny and overall weird looks. The attention he has been getting for his hilarious lines in Hangover is unfathomable, but Zach insists that fame and everything else that goes with it has never “caught up” with him. Zach insists, he is still the same old guy driving the same care and going to the same home before he shot up to international superstardom after the first installment of Hangover franchise.

''I still live in the same house and have driven the same Station Wagon since 1998. Money is poison and honey, so you've got be careful,'' Zach was quoted as saying when interviewed at the London premieres of Hangover III.

Realising what it has done to many stars who rose to immense popularity, Zach reiterated he will make sure he is not threading the same path.

He said, “I see it happen with a lot of funny people - they get caught up [in Hollywood]. I haven't really changed that much. This is not really my scene.”

“I don't think anyone knew the amount of attention [we'd get]. It's kind of bizarre to us all. We knew it was a good movie, but we didn't know it would strike a chord like it did.”

With most sequences shot in Thailand, Hangover III is now released in cinemas worldwide.
