343 Industries has teased a new mode dubbed Infection for “Halo 5 Guardians.” The new mode will be a zombie multiplayer mode, and one that some fans of the Halo franchise may be familiar with.

Infection Mode was teased via a short trailer, seen below. According to IGN, the Infection mode is one that had been present in both “Halo 3” and “Halo Reach.” This is the third time it’s making a comeback after skipping “Halo 4.” To go through the mode, players will need to fight off a team who are zombies. Every time a team member from the uninfected team dies, he or she will become a zombie for the other team.

The developer has also recently released the big update for “Halo 5 Guardians,” specifically the one for its Ghosts of Meridian DLC expected this April. There’s already a landing page for the expansion on the official Halo Waypoint website.

As announced earlier, Skirmish at Darkstar will be the mew Warzone map. Tyrant, the new Arena map, will be set on a Site C, which is a forerunner area that has been ravaged by the war against the Flood. Similar to the image above, there are a lot of new teaser shots for the two maps in the latest blog update.

343 Industries also announced a Warzone Firefight, which is a new multiplayer mode set to be the biggest co-op experience in the franchise to date. Going live on April 14 to 18, all “Halo 5 Guardians” players will be able to sample this via the Warzone Firefight Beta.

The new mode can house up to eight players who will have to go through five rounds of objectives that are timed and increase in difficulty. Teams will be set against AI enemies, but since it is a Warzone mode, they can easily access the REQ system. There will even be an offered promotional pack called the Mythic Warzone REQ pack.

Players who make use of the Forge to create great maps in “Halo 5 Guardians” can add another layer to their creations. The update for Ghosts of Meridian adds several pieces and a new feature to make an even more realistic scene. There are now new weather effects like rain, snow, dust, motes, embers and papers.

The “Halo 5 Guardians” DLC Ghosts of Meridian will feature several new weapons, armours and REQs. And the full list of updates, alongside specific changes can be seen in the link above.
