The beta run for "Halo 5: Guardians" has finally reached its third and final week. The developer has already introduced a lot of new maps and game types to those who have participated in the beta, with the latest being Breakout.

For the last leg of the beta run, which is slated to end on Jan. 18. This time, a new game type will be coming to the beta run. Dubbed Strongholds, here the teams will have to control the majority of bases. Points can be earned for every second that a team controls the base more than the enemy team does.

Overall, there are three control zones in the mode, and to earn the points, a team will specifically have to control two of the Strongholds zones. It's going to be a match and a race to get to the 100 points. Strongholds is playable on Regret and Empire.

343 Industries announced via the official Halo website Halo Waypoint other details for "Halo 5: Guardians." Two maps will be put into the Slayer playlist, which puts the addition of Prophet's Bane and Truth. Lastly, Pegasus, the new Forge map, will also be playable.

More than this, there will also be more Forge customization tools coming to "Halo 5: Guardians." According to the Xbox Wire, there will also be a few more weapons to make the battle scenes even more interesting. The Sniper Rifle, Energy Sword and Prophet's Bane will all be making a comeback. A new addition will be the Rocket Launcher, which will make its first debut on the multiplayer beta.

There are already a few reports on how the third week of the beta is going. GamerHeadlines has tried out some of the new features that have been recently introduced. The Strongholds mode has been compared to the Domination game type, and one that gives a feel of the "Call of Duty" atmosphere.

As a game type, it is certainly a good one to try out in beta, but the source states that it has a number of things that can be addressed. The first is that the maps for Strongholds leave some things to be desired. There are a number of issues in the maps, an example of which is the impossibility of maintaining control in Regret. The starting weapons may not be the best choice for the latest beta game type, but this may be a matter of choice and play style more than a technical issue.

And for those who are looking for some glitches in the latest beta run, there's what Kotaku calls the Spartan crabwalk or the more crudely described Spartan poop stance by Redditors who have been seeing the glitch. It appears that this happens once you crouch midair and sprint once you land at the start of a breakout game.

Still, the latest offering for "Halo 5: Guardians" has its highlights, such as the addition of Rocket Launcher to the mix instead of the Hydra Cannon. As usual, the developer is accepting feedback and any reports for issues found in "Halo 5: Guardians."
