Kevin Feige recently talked about the Phase Three films under the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” He teased that fans will be up for more surprises in the sequel.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was quizzed about “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” during an interview with i09.com about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked to share details about the sequel, Feige teased, “There’s a lot of very surprising additions to the movie and reveals in the movie that if I were to tell you now you’d go “What!?!” “But when you see the movie I hope it is just as surprising as Guardians 1 was the first time around,” Feige said.

Feige also revealed his excitement for the film. “I’m very excited for it and excited that we and James are not resting on the laurels and just saying, ‘Here’s another soundtrack and another space adventure,’” he added.

Movie director James Gunn has reportedly also mentioned during an interview that he plans on having an additional character in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” According to Screenrant, Gunn has already talked to someone about playing the character he has in mind. This character is believed to be another Guardian. However, there was no mention of how many new additions there would be in the film or who these characters are.

There have been speculations that Magus will be among the new additional characters in the sequel. But James Gunn played coy when asked by Collider at the 41st Annual Saturn Awards. Instead he gave a knowing smile and said fans will have to wait and see the film to find out for themselves who these new characters are.

Magus was already alluded to in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” According to The Daily Marvelite, James Gunn had even confirmed that the pulsating cocoon found inside the Collector’s room contains Magus or Adam Warlock.

What’s for certain though is that the identity of Peter Quill a.k.a. Star Lord’s father will finally be revealed in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” “We learn a lot about fathers in the second movie and I think we focus a lot on that,” James Gunn confirmed with Collider.
