"Grimm" Season 5, Episode 17 ("Inugami") gets down to the business of pitting one Hexenbiest against another. After their brief phone conversation two weeks ago, Adalind (Claire Coffee) and Juliette/Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) stand face to face in the next new episode, with Juliette seemingly "back" to protect Nick (David Giuntoli) against Adalind.

Spoiler alert: This update contains "Grimm" Season 5 spoilers. Details include the latest developments in Nick's quest to understand what the seven keys and seven knights are all about.

"Grimm" writers seem to want viewers to believe that Juliette is really dead. Showrunner Jim Kouf even said the exact same thing. Eve, the altered version of Juliette the Hexenbiest, is supposed to be a different person. In the past episode, Eve has lines that remind the characters that Juliette is dead. However, in the April 15 episode on NBC, Juliette is definitely alive and back, warning Adalind not to ever hurt Nick, someone the two 'biests love.

"Grimm" Season 5, Episode 17 is promising, to say the least. After a couple of episodes devoid of grit and excitement, it is time to see what happens next in the big picture. For instance, what would Nick find in his basement? (Is it worth all the screen time?)

The April 8 episode ("True Believer") features a scamming preacher and a religious group that doesn't realize the scammer is a Wesen. It's a fine Grimm case-of-the-week, but the viewers are left hanging when it comes to the major developments in the series. There are crumbs here and there, tho, to remind fans that the series is going in a more exciting direction in the next few episodes.

Wu (Reggie Lee) is going through some changes after being bitten by a Lycanthrope. Will Wu become a werewolf Wesen? Will the magic wand "cure" him? Adalind has finally brought up baby Diana again in her conversation with Nick, but she has yet to tell him that her Hexenbiest powers are back. Eve/Juliette has interacted with a Black Claw operative by posing as Renard (Sasha Roiz). These little things are expected to come together as the series moves closer to its fifth season finale.

Is "Grimm" Season 6 the final season? David Giuntoli has been quoted as saying the show's sixth season could be its last. He is not certain, but he pointed out the journey toward the 100th episode of the show has been a "fight."

If "Grimm" Season 6 is the last season, writers better give the baby Diana story a good closure. They also have to justify why the miracle wand hidden by the seven knights was buried for hundreds of years, and what peril awaits anyone who chooses to use it (Nick, inadvertently) or benefits from it (Monroe, unconsciously).

Nick now knows that the magic stick comes with miracles and great risks, thanks to the ancient text in the cloth that kept it wrapped for hundreds of years. He is expected to use it in his fight against Black Claw. But how?

Meanwhile, the other Grimm, Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni), has been absent for a couple of episodes now. Where is she and Meisner (Damien Puckler)? Apparently, Eve/Juliette is able to make decisions, such as transforming as Renard, without consulting her team.

"Grimm" Season 5, Episode 17 has a stake-out scene featuring Juliette and Nick. She asks him if he has noticed any changes in Adalind. Will Nick finally realize that he is living with a Hexenbiest -- again?
