Maria Sharapova revealed that she does not want her boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov to propose to her in public. Sharapova and Dimitrov have been together for over two years but the two were pretty quiet about their relationship.

In a recent interview on The Project as reported by Sports Mole, the former world no. 1 Russian tennis superstar expressed her desire to keep her personal life out of the spotlight. When asked about the idea of a public proposal the 27-year-old said, "That's horrible, I don't like spectacle. That has never really been my style I prefer more private, intimate occasions."

Although the Russian wants the flare and drama out of the tennis court, Sharapova and Dimitrov have been flaunting their relationship on Instagram. As seen on the social media account, Sharapova and Dimitrov shopped for a Christmas tree together during the holidays.

According to the Daily Mail, "the tennis ace and her beau held hands after they enjoyed a coffee stop at Intelligentsia in Venice." In a report in Courier Mail, when asked about her relationship with Grigor Dimitrov, Maria Sharapova revealed that it is a part of her life that she wants to keep private. She reiterated that it is important to keep a private life because as an athlete, much of her life is open to the public eye.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Sharapova announced that she's happy to abstain from her favourite drink as she tries to win the 2015 Australian Open title. If the Russian wins the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, she will steal the world no.1 title to the 18-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams.

The biggest earner in women's sport and former world no.1, opened her season with a win at the Brisbane International and she is pretty confident that she can train and push herself more physically. In 2008, Maria Sharapova won her third Grand Slam at Melbourne Park and last year, she took home the French Open title.
