Fans might have noticed that “Grey’s Anatomy” took a different approach to the medical drama in the last season. This time, the show focused more on the legal drama that DeLuca, Karev and Wilson went through, as well as the love triangle involving Riggs, Marie and Meredith. While that may be the case, fans could not help but wonder where the undeniable romantic connection between Jackson and April is headed.

Fans of Japril are in for a real treat as “Grey’s Anatomy” is reportedly planning a follow-up to a Jackson/April episode, which was fondly dubbed by fans as #JpariltheSequel. In reality, it is already beyond the planning stage as the episode has already been shot and is already scheduled to air in March.

Sarah Drew, who plays Dr April Kepner, explained that such episode will feature only both of them and they will be going to Montana on a case. She also explained that they will be forced to face each other and be in small spaces together as they navigate a lot of situations. All these will turn out to be a very cool turning point in their relationship.

She then clarified that fans should not expect this follow-up to be just another reiteration of the original. Drew explains that, this time, it is going to be way different from “Japril:The Movie” wherein they were youthful and younger as they travelled through time. In this upcoming episode, there will be more light and hope and it will get much more mature but ,at the same time, still quiet and intimate, reports TV Line.

Earlier, sources have revealed that Jackson’s father would be arriving on the show very soon. While this may be the case, fans are more interested in what happens to him and April. In the show’s 13th season, they welcomed a baby girl. Unfortunately, they seemed decided in pushing through with their divorce. All that might change in light of this upcoming follow-up that has been given out just in time for fans who have been gushing to see these two together. What actually happens between them and how things turn out in the episodes to come remains to be seen.

“Grey’s Anatomy” returns on January 19, 2017 on ABC. In Australia, the show airs on Channel Seven.
