The last-aired episode "Risk" saw some major developments and ended with a bulldozer of cliffhangers. Arizona decided to help Dr Herman, who is not too happy with her associate's plan. During April's routine checkup and an ultrasound, Stephanie, Jackson's ex-girlfriend, learned that the couple's child is suffering from a possible fatal condition. Meanwhile, things began to cool down between Meredith and her half-sister Maggie. However, tension between Derek and Meredith continued to aggravate, and in a heated argument Meredith asked Derek to take up the job in Washington and he did.

Fans must brace themselves as "Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 is going to bring some bold storylines when it returns with its much-awaited Episode 9. Besides digging deeper into the current stories, the show makers are planning to introduce something new.

TV Line reports that the new episodes will bring a "major trans storyline in 2015." It revolves around a new character named Travis. He is described as "attractive, good-humoured thirtysomething man." The character is looking forward to transform into a woman and through him fans will witness the "believable transition." Furthermore, it is said that the character will be able to establish a strong bond with the staff of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. No other information was revealed as the plot of the upcoming episodes is reportedly in "nascent stages."

Actress Caterina Scorsone, who plays Amelia Shepherd, has dropped more spoilers for the upcoming episodes of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 11. Speaking to E News, the TV actress revealed that she is very excited to see how some stories pan out. Meanwhile, she hinted at how Jackson and April's baby story will link with her character as their current situation resonates so deeply in Amelia's backstory. As suggested by Scorsone, it will definitely be incredibly interesting to see how things shape up.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 returns on Jan. 29, 2015 with Episode 9. It will be followed by a segment titled "The Bed's Too Big Without You" on Feb. 5, 2015.
