Grey's Anatomy Season 10, Episode 1 ("Seal Our Fate") and Episode 2 ('I Want You With Me") sparked another premiere sobfest for the ABC medical drama. Humour finds some room, thanks to Jolex (Jo Wilson and Alex Karev) and the now-series-regular interns. But things are still very bad in the Calzona (Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins) 'ship.

1. New mum Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) briefly relives George O'Malley's (T. R. Knight) death when the interns come to her for help. The interns' "Medusa" is now the interns' new mom, Bailey 2.0. Toward the end of the 2-hour premiere, Mer officially and proudly declares Richard Webber (James Pickens, Jr) is "family."

2. In this special Grey's Anatomy season premiere, the show winks at another dead, Eric Dane's Mark Sloan. Leah (Tessa Ferrer) reveals her mom dated Sloan a long time ago.

3. RIP Heather Brooks (Tina Marjorino). Her toughest competition in the O.R. -- Shane Ross (Gaius Charles) -- blames himself for Heather's death. He is likely to eventually tell the interns why.

4. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) comes through and saves Richard's life - but not after sustaining massive wounds from Catherine Avery's (Debbie Allen) verbal daggers.

5. It may be over for the Japril 'ship. "You didn't want me when I was okay," Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) shocks April Kepner (Sarah Drew). He's right; Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) wants him -- fine or explosion-burnt. He's upset that April, on the verge of getting married, practically asked him to snatch her away from her paramedic fiancée. Then Kepner, who admits she gets confused, "proposes" to Matthew. All in one episode!

6. The Jolex pair is keeping it calm, talking about break-up - in jest. Karev (Justin Chambers) engages Jo (Camilla Luddington) in a "break-up scenario." She tells him she'd be the one to dump him, and he'll never love again. The dramedy has started, as Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes promised.

7. Jo Wilson and the rest of the interns have been thinking how they could comfort Heather's mother. But Karev's booze suggestion ruins all their effort. In the end, they realize they should be each other's 'person' in the hospital. It's a good start to placing the interns front and centre this season.

Grey's Anatomy Season 10 Premiere Recap: Calzona and Crowen Big Moments

Crowen shippers must have shed some tears when Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) have "the talk." And then Calzona shippers sobbed, too, with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw).

"Just the one because I'm the one who said it was time, doesn't mean this is easy for me. This is not easy for me," Cristina says, sobbing. This is not the usual Yang post-coitus. But viewers can easily understand where she's coming from.

The Calzona couple has raided the Shepherds' home. Meredith has told Callie to stay with them instead of staying in a hotel. New dad Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) and Yang are later caught between Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona in the final scenes. Yang appeals to Callie to let Arizona hold Sofia for "five minutes."
