Ryan Reynolds recently opened up about his experience with the 2011 superhero film “Green Lantern.” The actor revealed that film did not have a script and that was probably one of the reasons why it tanked at the box office.

“When we shot Green Lantern, nobody auditioning for the role of Green Lantern was given the opportunity to read the script because the script didn’t exist,” the actor revealed to Yahoo Movies. However, the actor added that he does not repent doing the film and if he gets the opportunity to re-do the film he will do “everything the exact same way.”

“I’m not complaining about it -- it was an opportunity of a lifetime, and if I were to go back and retrace my steps,” said Reynolds. “Green Lantern” tells the story of Hal Jordan who is recruited in the team of Green Lantern Corps. He gets his superpowers from a ring and protects the universe from the evil deeds of Parallax. Martin Campbell directed the film and it starred Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett and Tim Robbins. Reynolds played the lead role of Hal Jordan. The film received negative reviews and was criticised because of poor execution and script. It was also said that Campbell’s film did not bear similarity to the comic book, reported Rotten Tomatoes.

The plans to make the sequel were reportedly cancelled post the failure of the film. However, Green Lantern is reportedly scheduled to appear in other films of DC universe and there are plans to reboot the character for a solo film in 2020. Meanwhile, Reynolds is currently gearing up for his new movie “Deadpool.” The film has been written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and is one of the most anticipated films of 2016. Contrary to “Green Lantern,” “Deadpool” has a script and Reynolds feel that really makes a difference, reported Yahoo Movies.

The plot of the film is expected to revolve around the mercenary and anti-hero Deadpool. The character is known for his talkative nature. Reynolds played Deadpool in the 2009 film “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.” “Deadpool” is being directed by Tim Miller and is scheduled to be released on Feb 12, 2016.
