“Grandfathered” returns on April 26 on Fox, ending its hiatus and taking the viewers into a birthday celebration. It’s Jimmy Martino’s (John Stamos) 50th birthday -- again!

Quick review: In the previous episode of “Grandfathered,” Jimmy and Catherine Sanders (Regina Hall) have a lot of scenes together to establish the status of their relationship. It is not one of the best episodes of the comedy series, mostly because it is usually the silly yet sweet family moments that make this show a lot of fun to watch.

In the next episode, the comedy is focused on family again, as Jimmy mulls how his life has changed since celebrating his (real) 50th birthday. At 51, Jimmy will struggle with the usual vanity-induced insecurities, but he will also be grateful for his family. There will be flashbacks to give viewers some more insight into Jimmy’s life before discovering that he has a 25-year-old son and a baby granddaughter.

Jimmy Martino is a modern-day entrepreneur who enjoys random dalliances, mostly with women he meets in his own restaurant. His life is changed when he discovers he has a son, and he is now a grandfather to a cute baby. John Stamos (“Full House” and “ER”) plays the role of the charming 50-year-old bachelor. Jimmy turns 51 in “Grandfathered” Season 1, Episode 20, titled "Jimmy's 50th, Again" (original air date on Fox: April 26).

Who is Gerald Kingsley in ‘Grandfathered’ series by Fox?

Gerald Kingsley is the son of Jimmy Martino and Sara Kingsley (Paget Brewster), who kept her pregnancy from Jimmy for fear of having an unfocused, unreliable father in Gerald’s life. Gerald is madly in-love with his best friend Vanessa (Christina Milian), who is also the mother of his child, Edie (Layla and Emelia Golfieri).
