British designer Kevin McCloud is set to release a new book this November: 43 Principles of Home.

In his new book, the Grand Designs presenter McCloud, an authority in home design, addresses real and practical domestic such as:

  • What is the perfect kitchen layout?
  • How do you create a feeling of space in traditionally sized rooms?
  • How do you create an extension that works?
  • How do you best choose colour for function?
  • How do you create dynamic and enjoyable kids spaces?
  • And how can you best manage home waste and recycling?

43 Principles of Home explores all areas of home life, from materialism to sustainability, craftsmanship to comfort. The book is McCloud's commentary on contemporary home living as the foremost voice in modern architectural design.

McCloud previously authored several books: Kevin McCloud's Decorating Book (1990), The Techniques of Decorating (1995), Kevin McCloud's Lighting Book (1995) and The Complete Decorator (1996). He was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Design from both Oxford Brookes and Plymouth University in 2005. McCloud is also a receipient of an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2009 and became Honorary Fellow of the Society of Light & Lighting (SLL) in 2009.
