The long-awaited and debated game Gran Turismo 6 is finally making its way to the PS3, with the official announcement made by Polyphony Digital.

For those who are planning to buy the next-gen PlayStation 4 may have to wait a while to get their hands on the Gran Turismo 6, but at least it's already assured that the game will be coming to the PS4.

"But for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release the PS3 version," said Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi to GameSpot. "I thought the best scenario would be for the game to come out, and we're planning to have new content, and DLC every few months."

It seems that current-gen players will get to experience the hype for the thmeslves first, before a newer version comes out.

For the time being, Sony will be showing off a demo for the Gran Turismo 6 this July. Ars Technica adds that Gran Turismo 6 has finally been announced to come out for the PS3 this November.

1,200 cars to look forward to

Along with this official announcement, EuroGamer reports that Gran Turismo 6 will be featuring 1,200 cars and 7 tracks.

Considering Polyphony's announcement of monthly DLCs in store, gamers can now except new tracks every month.

Even for the PS3, you can already expect more advanced graphics, especially those that will feature adaptive tessellation, as well as physics-based models.

Included in the list of cars are those seen in Gran Turismo 5, tagging along a garage with new additions filled to the brim with customization options and features.
