Spoiler alert! This article contains “Gotham” season 2 spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

In an exclusive report by ComicBook, FOX has yet to confirm whether the character will take on his brown and muddy form in future episodes. News of the original Clayface appearing on “Gotham” first surfaced at Wondercon in 2015.

McManamon is based in New York City and works as an actor, teacher and acting coach. He also spent a lot of time on stage. He has appeared on various TV shows, such as “Gossip Girl,” “Project Beth” and “Connect With English.”

The actor shared the news about his guest appearance on Twitter.

“Psyched to be guest starring (& bald!) in an upcoming episode of @Gotham with the gracious & talented @ben mckenzie,” he captioned a photo of himself and McKenzie, who plays James Gordon on the show.

It is still uncertain which episode he will be appearing in or if he will have a recurring role.

In the comics, Basil Karlo debuted in “Detective Comics #40” in June 1940. The character was created by Bob Kane. Basil used to be a famous actor who was furious after discovering that a classic horror film that he starred in, “The Terror,” was being remade without him. Subsequently, his rage turned into insanity. He promised revenge against members of the cast and dressed up as the villain in the film, called Clayface. He also murdered the people involved in the same order that their characters died in the movie.

Initially, Basil did not have any superpowers, but he was later provided with special abilities when the character was featured again in “The Mud Pack” in 1989, in “Detective Comics.” The series consisted of four parts, which showed Karlo teaming up with other forms of Clayface, namely Matt Hagen, Preston Payne and Sondra Fuller, all with the same objective of destroying Batman. They were eventually defeated by Batman, but Karlo gained his shape-shifting powers after he tricked his former allies and took their samples and injected these to himself.

“Gotham” airs every Monday on FOX. More updates and details are expected soon.
