Fans of the new Fox series “Gotham” will have to wait a full month to be able to enjoy the last four episodes of the season. The series is enjoying a successful first season which is set to resume airing on April 13. At the end of last Monday’s episode entitled “Everyone Has A Cobblepot,” ABC released a promo video that announces the month-long hiatus. In the video, which was posted by Spoiler TV, the return date was announced and scenes from earlier in the season were shown. Penguin was seen speaking to Detective Jim Gordon about their complicated but mutually beneficial relationship. Among all the villains introduced in the series, Penguin has been in the forefront of the action. He developed an odd love-hate friendship with Jim after the latter saved his life at the beginning of the season. Penguin has since gone about his nefarious activities and has proven to be helpful from time t time when Jim needed his underworld connections to solve a case. The pair’s relationship will develop further in the last few episodes of the season now that Penguin has gotten involved in Jim’s quest to take down Police Commissioner Loeb.

Other popular “Batman” characters that have already made appearances in the series are Cat Woman, The Joker, Scarecrow, The Electrocutioner and Poison Ivy. Ed Nygma’s journey towards becoming The Riddler is slowly being built up throughout the season and is sure to be a key player in the future. Likewise, The Dollmaker has already played a big part in the series storyline and his new partnership with Fish Mooney may prove to play a big role in closing out the season.

Bruce Wayne has started to investigate his company’s involvement in illegal activities and has earned himself some enemies. Apart from this being a story of Jim Gordon’s rise to power as Gotham City Police Commissioner, this is still a story about Batman and Wayne’s journey s always something to take note of. Latest photos from the “Gotham” set have also shown “Heroes” star Milo Ventimiglia shooting scenes with some members of the cast. It remains to be seen what role he will play in when the series returns on April 13 on Fox.
