Not long ago, Apple unveiled the humongous 12.9-inch 2-in-1 tablet called the iPad Pro. Keeping up with the trend and demand for big-display clad slates, Google is apparently working on a tablet with a huge display called the “Pixel C.”

Apart from the Nexus lineup, Android Police says, Google is gearing up to release a new tablet series called Pixel C with a cool 10.2-inch display. The reported pixel density of the device is 308 ppi. The slate’s screen will reportedly feature a “super-bright backlight” with the capability to hit 500 nits.

Under the hood, the Pixel C will apparently come powered by none-other-than the superior NVIDIA Tegra X1 chip. The chipset comes bundled with an octa-core processor and the graphics side of things will be taken care by a 256-core Maxwell GPU. It is worth reminding that, this NVIDIA chip amassed a whopping score of 75,000 in AnTuTu benchmark testing, notes Phone Arena.

The hardware components will apparently be backed by a solid 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and this device will feature a Type-C USB port. On the software front, the handset will run the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The search giant will reportedly make two keyboard accessories available for the slate. While one of them will come with an aluminum casing, the other accessory will settle for a leather build. As it turns out, both the keyboards will automatically start charging upon closing the device cover.

Similar to the 2-in-1 Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Apple iPad Pro, the Google Pixel C is also expected to look like a laptop with detachable/optional keyboard. To top it all off, Google’s traditional light bar on the rear of the slate will also be maintained in the Pixel C, says Android Police. This design feature allows the device owner to check out the available battery life.

Speaking of Google Pixel C release date, the slate will reportedly hit the store shelves sometime in November, targeting the holiday season. At this point, the price ambit is unknown. However, Phone Arena says, this device will not be inexpensive like the Nexus tablets. In any case, readers should note that, Google has not confirmed the Pixel C specifications or release date thus far.
