The battle is on between Google, Inc., and Apple Inc. and it seems that the search giant is showing that it has bigger guns.

Androidland opens its doors for Aussies in Melbourne. Top carrier Telstra, in cooperation with internet giant Google and handset makers Samsung, HTC, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and LG, created and designed Androidland to showcase smartphones and tablets running with Android operating system.

Androidland brings together interactive technology, games and on-site experts to explain the features of Google's Android operating system.

Telstra Mobile's executive director Warwick Bray said that this is the first time that the mobile carrier is collaborating with Google to create a dedicated retail presence for Google's Android. "Over the past 12 months we've seen a huge growth in the number of customers coming in-store and asking us about Android phones and tablets. With Androidland we wanted to create a retail environment like no other that helps us to answer customer questions in a fun, interactive way," Mr. Bray said.

"The result is a world-first collaboration that goes beyond conventional product displays by allowing visitors to get hands on with a range of popular mobile services and apps found on Android devices," the executive director quickly added.

Androidland employs highly-trained Android experts that can assist visitors in "androidifying" themselves. One can also bring their Android devices in the shop and get assistance in choosing popular and useful Android apps as well as help in customizing one's homescreen.

Customers are constantly looking for interactive shopping experience and Androidland just give it to the consumers.

Androidland is located at Telstra's retail outlet in Bourke Street Melbourne.
