At an event in San Francisco, Google announced a family plan for its Play Google Play Music All Access subscription later this year. The new plan will incorporate up to six users at US$14.99 (AU$21.24) per month. The current plan incurs US$9.99 (AU$ 14.12) per person.

Each member will have separate accounts with ID and Google will help users personalise and customise them. Google Play Music All Access, which allows users to stream music, is available in 58 countries on both Android and iOS.

Launched in 2013, Google Play Music missed out on the ‘family plan’ which both Apple Music and Spotify offer. According to NDTV Gadgets, Apple Music subscription cost for six people also matches with that of Google Play Music.

However, the tech giant ended up offering a better deal than Spotify which includes only two subscribers for US$14.99(AU$ 20.19) per month plan. Spotify family plan goes up to US$29.99(AU$ 42.39) for five people. Google’s family plan is also more competitive than Rdio and Rhapsody. Amazon Music, Groove Music and Pandora do not offer any family plan, reports Venture Beat.

In June, the company added a free, ad-supported tier to its Google Play Music service. Without paying for a US$10 monthly subscription, anyone could log into Google's pool radio stations and enjoy the music. The free tier debuted in the U.S on the Web followed by Android and iOS versions. On the other hand, Apple Music does not have a free, ad-supported version.

Meanwhile, Google also updated its Photos and announced the feature of album sharing. Soon users will be able to contribute images and videos to albums created by friends and families. Google also added Chromecast support and ability to add private labels to photos.
