Google Play gift cards are now going to be available in Canada. Android users in this part of the world will finally be enjoying this once U.S.-only privilege.

The gift cards are going to be available for $10, $25 and $50. Google partnered with GameStop, Target, RadioShack and Walmart in offering Google Play gift cards in Canada.

As Canada has a huge market for Android phones, it was supposedly an obvious choice to bring the gift cards in the country as well.

Google launched the gift cards in the U.S. and tested that market for a year. After the testing period, results were pretty encouraging, so Google decided to expand the business further.

Google is also looking for a Retail Partner Manager who will take charge of the office at Mountain View in California. The Manager-in-charge will be responsible for the gift card business of the company in Canada and Australia as well. The expected qualities of the manager include a sound knowledge in retail landscape and the potential markets in Canada and Australia. The job posting was last updated in July.

Google, however, asks its customers to have some patience when they reach out to the retailers. There is a possibility that gift coupons are still on the way to the retailers as these still are pretty early days of the company's offer of service in Canada. Google asks its customers to check whether the gift coupons are available. One must call ahead for checking on availability.

The gift cards are going to help in purchasing digital content from Google Play Store. Even though it can be a great option to give such gift cards to Android enthusiasts, one must keep it in mind that these gift cards are not supposed to work on devices.

You can easily use the location finder on the Web site to locate a store according to your convenience. You just have to type the zip code of the area to know if there is a store available in the area.
