A reliable source has confirmed that Google is already developing its next Pixel phone, the Google Pixel 2 and its major focus this time is its camera. Google is said to be working on low-light photography and is ensuring that the Pixel 2 performs well under low-light conditions. Mastering low-light photography has also been a major focus of the other two tech giants Samsung and Apple. The Google Pixel has already been praised for possessing excellent low-light photography capabilities and it has the highest-rated camera too.

According to Forbes, Google is also looking to address the pain points of the Google Pixel in Pixel 2 and one such major pain point is water resistance. Better water resistance is a must for the Google Pixel 2 smartphone as the existing Pixel phones have been criticised on that front. Apart from that, a processor upgrade is also reportedly on the cards. Numerous reports have surfaced online hinting at a possible cheaper option for the Google Pixel 2, supposedly Google Pixel 2B.

However, the Google Pixel 2 is still at a very early stage of development. Thus, whatever is reported today may become redundant tomorrow when the actual handset will be revealed. Needles to say, Google will definitely upgrade the Pixel phones before releasing them in the market. The Pixel devices have been a massive hit albeit their pocket-burning prices. A Bloomberg report revealed that the Google Pixel sales were pretty strong and the devices accounted for 12.3 percent of phone activations with Verizon in the US.

According to Tech Times, the Google Pixel 2 will be at least US$50 (AU$67) more expensive than the current generation Pixels. Even though Google may stick to providing lower megapixels than Samsung Galaxy S series handsets, it will more than compensate that with exciting camera features.
