The Nexus 6 and the Nexus 8 on their release dates will likely run on Android L, which a new report said is centrally designed to improve the overall Google experience on mobile devices.

One of the core features of Android L is Material Design that according to BGR "is supposed to further enhance Google's Search performance and offer a better user experience across all devices."

Specifically, Material Design was created with mobile devices in mind and it is assumed that Google would the improvements it envisioned highlighted with the Nexus devices though according to Google designer Joe Wiley, the same feature will be an across deployment that will impact on all Google products service.

In fact, the same BGR report noted that Material Design, prior to the debut of Android L and the Nexus 6 and 8, is currently in gradual rollout mode, first affecting the Google Play Store application.

Still, Wiley said in a recent Reddit Q&A engagement that "Material Design came about when thinking how to make Google Search better on mobile devices."

For instance Google Search on the Nexus 6 or Nexus 8 should "feel much faster," with Material Design in full implement. "It's another step towards removing any speed bumps along the way to getting a good answer," the Googler was reported by BGR as saying.

Essentially, this Android L feature will overhaul the whole Google mobile platform with the specific goal of making the Nexus experience "more authentic and satisfying," and the same true with other devices that will stand on the operating system.

So apart from packing its upcoming signature smartphone and tablet with the obligatory high-end components, Google is making sure that the devices will deliver on killer features that are hard-coded with Android L.

To date, however, the Internet search giant is yet to provide concrete specifics on its plans for the Nexus 6 and 8.

Android fans merely cling to speculations that the Nexus 8 is an 8.9-inch tablet that HTC is building soon. There are suggestions that the slate will come out of the box labelled as the HTC Nexus 9.

As for the Nexus 6, LG, which previously made the Nexus 4 and 5, reportedly dropped out of contention and its stead, Motorola has stepped in.

According to Android Police, the next Nexus could be a mobile phone nicknamed Shamu and will soon go live on the Play Store with a massive 5.9-inch screen profile that suits the Nexus 6 name. The overly stretched is a huge leap from the Nexus 5's 4.9-inch display panel, making the device a serious phablet market contender.

As mentioned, Android L is part of the Nexus 6 and 8 deals but release dates of the pure Androids remain subject of ongoing debates.
