Google has once again slashed the price of the recently released Nexus 5X smartphone. Its 16 GB and 32 GB variants are now available for $299 (AU$425) and $349 (AU$496) respectively.
Google had launched the LG Nexus 5X in October last year with a price tag of $379 (AU$538) for the 16 GB model and $429 (AU$609) for the 32 GB model. It was introduced alongside the high-end Huawei Nexus 6P smartphone. The Nexus 5X and 6P are the first smartphones to come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS onboard.
According to 9 to 5 Google, the search engine giant had recently reduced the price of the 16 GB and 32 GB Nexus 5X smartphones by $30. Now, both smartphones are available for just $299 (AU$425) and $349 (AU$496) respectively on Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy and B&H Photo. In comparison to their launch prices, the retailers are offering a price cut of $80 on both variants of the Nexus 5X.
A seller named buydig with a positive feedback rating of 98.9 percent is also selling the 16 GB and 32 GB Nexus 5X smartphones for $299 (AU$425) and $349 (AU$496) respectively on Ebay. The seller is also offering a $20 visa gift card and free shipping service.
The Nexus 5X is a product from LG and it was launched as the upgraded version of the well-received LG Nexus 5 released in 2013. The LG Nexus 5X is not a flagship smartphone but it does come with impressive specs and an affordable price tag.
It houses a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display that supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is driven by Snapdragon 808 chipset and 2 GB of RAM. It comes in two native storage versions but lacks a microSD expansion slot.
When it comes to photography, the Nexus 5X offers a 12.3-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel selfie camera. The main camera is enabled with features such as laser autofocus and dual-LED flash. Other specs of the Nexus 5X include USB Type-C and 2,700 mAh battery.
