The Google Nexus 2016 release date rumours suggest that the device will be arriving in the last quarter of 2016. It will rival the iPhone 7, which is expected to release in September this year, with fresh speculations suggesting that the Google Nexus 2016 smartphone will be arriving with 3D Touch and Nexus VR.

Apple had first introduced the 3D Touch feature on its iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus smartphones, which were announced in September 2015. Both iPhones are equipped with pressure-sensitive screens. According to Gizmo China, various Chinese smartphone OEMs such as Xiaomi, Meizu, OPPO and Vivo are also constructing smartphones with pressure-sensitive screens.

The publication added that HTC was rumoured to be manufacturing the Nexus 2016 smartphone, which is also expected to come fitted with a pressure-sensitive screen. This will allow the HTC Nexus 2016 smartphone to go up against the iPhone 7 later this year. It further claimed that 3D Touch support will come incorporated in the Android N OS.

Speculations are rife that HTC is working on two Nexus 2016 smartphones. Both smartphones are expected to feature smaller screens compared to the ones present on the Google Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.

The Nexus 5X has a 5.2-inch screen, but its successor is rumoured to come with 5-inch display. The Google Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch screen. However, its successor will be sporting a 5.5-inch display.

Google is reportedly working on a Samsung Gear VR-like product that will support most Android smartphones. Speculations suggest the Nexus 2016 smartphones may support the purported Nexus VR headset.

The Android N will be introduced to the world with the launch of the upcoming Nexus 2016 phones. Rumours also hint that Google has partnered with Huawei once again to build a Nexus 7 2016 tablet.
