Google Nexus Pixel and Pixel XL may well be the fastest android phones when they are released. Most of the widely-anticipated smartphones have already been announced including Apple iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy Note 7. While Galaxy Note 7 is going through hell, recalling all the devices because of a dangerous flaw, iPhone 7 is almost ready to hit the shelves.

The Google Nexus 2016 smartphones are reportedly hitting shelves next month. The Google Pixel (Sailfish) and Pixel XL (Marlin) will be the only devices to be shipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor on board in the US.

The Google phones are expected to have exclusive software features, Google support and financing features. As for the prices, there are rumours that the Pixel XL version will be priced at US$649 (AU$860). Whether it will be for the 32GB or the 128GB variant is not clear at this stage, said David Ruddock of Android Police via Twitter.

As per AndroidPure, the Google Pixel XL won’t have the Nexus branding. Instead, it will have the Google branding at the back. Leaked images have shown the device having a not-so-impressive rear design. The images were initially posted on Weibo showing a phone similar to that of other leaks.

Google has been tight-lipped about its upcoming Google Nexus 7 2016 smartphones, Pixel and Pixel XL. There are rumours that the company will start taking pre-orders in the US the same day the smartphones are revealed. This means the devices will be available for pre-orders from Oct. 4, right after the release.

The Google Nexus 7 is expected to sport a 7-inch screen with AMOLED Quad display panel, 4GB RAM and 12MP rear camera and 8MP front camera with highly-advanced features such as 4K video recording. There may also be a USB Type-C port, 5,100mAh battery with a Quick Charge 3.0 support and an Android 7.0 Nougat system. However, these are all rumours at this stage.
