Aside from the LG G4 specs and features, details about the Nexus 2015 release date are also hinted by ongoing Google projects. Latest reports are indicating that the tech giant is working to deliver better battery and uninterrupted internet access to its mobile devices.

Two major Google undertakings are reportedly underway and the chief aim is to further improve the existing and upcoming products and services of the Internet search giant. Google X Project, according to Apple Insider, is a focused effort to develop not only a longer-lasting battery package but also to make it safe and as mobile as possible.

Another endeavour that Google is reportedly invested into is called Project Fi. The program involves the realisation of the company’s ambition to become a mobile virtual network operator or MVNO. On launch time, the service is likely to take the official name Google Wireless, Android Police reported.

Google’s underway projects are thought to benefit its key portfolio products namely the Google Glass and a self-driving car (tentatively to be called Google Car) that remains in the development stage. Not to forget is Google’s signature phone – the Nexus 2015 version – the official name of which remains unknown.

Project Fi

Project Fi, per Android Police, will give access to Google Wireless and the backbone is MVNO. The service is centred on continuous voice and data connection, making use of Google’s MVNO so Android device users can access cellular and Wi-Fi service with little interruption possible. The MVNO infrastructure is currently codename Nova.

An application with the working label Tycho is also part of the package and the basic function is for users to manage their connection, including bills payment. It was initially suggested that the service will be exclusive to Nexus device with the Nexus 6 as the pilot beneficiary.

But Google Wireless is now being floated as an irresistible Android service that technically opens the door for all devices in the platform. Still, the Nexus 2015 phone users are touted to experience first the upcoming Google service with the Tycho app likely pre-loaded with the vanilla Android device.

Google X

Now to fully enjoy these initiatives when implemented, Google-powered devices will require as much power juice that they can draw. Google X, Apple Insider said, is designed to provide “new and better experiences,” in a mobile device by extending battery life.

The project is said to be led by a scientist once involved with Apple. The team, composed of four individuals, is tasked to develop a battery kit based on lithium-ion technology and can be easily produced in large-scale. As mentioned, Google products that will use the battery is as big as the electric-powered Google Car or the company’s mobile devices – the wearable Google Glass and Android Wear and the Nexus smartphones and tablets.

It is unclear if Google X will have a solid result in time for the Nexus 2015 release date. The stock Android phone, rumoured to be based on the LG G4, is pegged to arrive in the last few months of the year, likely between October and November.
