The I/O developer conference is a heaven for all geeks and tech aficionados. The conference not only hosted Google's latest offerings but a whole lot more of tech surprises. From Google's newest upgrades to collaboration with NASA and Solar Panels, it was a week filled with innovative products and technology.

Google I/O is one of the biggest and most anticipated events in San Francisco every year. While no one jumped into the conference wearing Google Glass, the event still had its share of big surprises. People were treated to new Google applications, Hangouts, a key-note from the Larry Page and many tech wonders.

Google's Applications

The flagship products of Google remained low key for the conference but the newest offerings and upgrades deserve attention. Users of collaboration suite and cloud email will be pleased to hear Google's continuous efforts in boosting their applications. From Google Plus to Hangout and Gmail, the company seeks to cater to both individual and business needs.

"While I/O did not provide any one key announcement [about] Google's enterprise collaboration platform, they have been making several small enhancements over the last few weeks, including remote desktop control for Hangouts, integrated storage between Drive and Gmail, and most notably a revamped look for their social networking platform, Google Plus," Alan Lepofsky shared with PC world. Lepofsky is under Constellation Research.

According to Lepofksy, it is evident that Google is working on integrating their range of programs and tools for a more consistent and unified experience. End-users can expect the company to provide more efficient but simple tools and applications in the coming months.

As a developer-focused conference, the Google I/O sheds light to high-technical applications related to Google and also other open-web technologies. Starting in 2008, I/O stands for "input/ouput" and "Innovation in the Open." This year, the event proved itself worthy to anticipate and watch.
